Really good stuff. I find it really interesting to think about digital technology in terms of food. Esp. when I think about how unhealthy so many are with food – their overall relationship with it – and not even know it. I think partial fasts at set times in a rhythm the way the Eastern Orthodox Church does it, can be very helpful with regard to our food relationships. In a not dissimilar way, I think digital fasting can be helpful – even in small doses in regular intervals.
I found the discussion about the adverse affects of checking email frequently to be particularly interesting – specifically how it raises cortisol.
